Welcome to SwordSearcher! This documentation has been written with one goal in mind: to give you the information you need to use SwordSearcher to its full potential, making your Bible study time more efficient and productive in the process.

A printable version of this help file is available on the SwordSearcher website, and if you have installed the Deluxe CD-ROM version of SwordSearcher, you have it on your Windows Start menu under Programs, SwordSearcher 5 as a PDF file.

System Requirements

SwordSearcher requires a PC with a Microsoft Windows operating system installed.

Windows XP, 2000, and Vista are supported. A full installation of SwordSearcher Deluxe requires about 450 megabytes of hard drive space. At least 512 megabytes of RAM and a screen resolution of 1024x768 (or higher) are recommended.

Note to Windows 98 and Windows ME users: Windows 98 and ME operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft. Due to the age and limitations of these operating systems and computers with Windows 98 or Windows ME installed, SwordSearcher is not guaranteed to work on them. SwordSearcher layout customization will appear slightly different on Windows 98 and ME than as shown in this manual. SwordSearcher will not work on Windows 95.

The SwordSearcher program, documentation, and binary data files (the "SOFTWARE") are copyright ©2008 by StudyLamp Software LLC (the "PUBLISHER"), PO Box 140478, Broken Arrow, OK 74014 USA. All rights reserved. SwordSearcher is a registered trademark.

THIS SOFTWARE IS LICENSED, NOT SOLD. Ownership of the SOFTWARE, Documentation and all intellectual property rights therein shall remain at all times with the Publisher. Usage of the SOFTWARE constitutes agreement with the terms of this LICENSE AGREEMENT.

Installation

You may install the SOFTWARE for your own use and for the use of your immediate household family on computers you own. You may not share copies of the Deluxe version of the SOFTWARE, or serial numbers pertaining to software licenses, with other parties. You may install the SOFTWARE on your home, mobile, and work computers for your own use.

Organizations (churches, Bible schools, etc.) may install the SOFTWARE in such a way that each licensed copy will run only one at a time, much like a book can be read by one person at a time.

To install licensed copies of the SOFTWARE on multiple machines for concurrent use, you must purchase additional licenses or a multi-seat license.

The CD-ROM, and/or license codes and serial numbers, may not be "shared," copied, or loaned.

The 30-day evaluation version of the SOFTWARE, which can be obtained from the Publisher's website, may be freely copied and installed but may not be accompanied or distributed with serial numbers or license codes.

Your serial number(s) are only for your use in accordance with this License Agreement. Transferring serial numbers to other parties is a violation of this Agreement.

RESTRICTIONS

You may not publish, display, disclose, rent, lease, modify, loan, distribute, or create derivative works based on the SOFTWARE, including but not limited to the binary program file and associated binary data files. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, translate, adapt, or disassemble the SOFTWARE or associated binary data files, nor shall you attempt to create the source code from the object code for the SOFTWARE.

LIMITED WARRANTY

THE PUBLISHER WARRANTS FOR A PERIOD OF THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER PURCHASE THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL OPERATE SUBSTANTIALLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCUMENTATION. SHOULD THE SOFTWARE NOT SO OPERATE, YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, AND THE PUBLISHER'S SOLE OBLIGATION UNDER THIS WARRANTY, SHALL BE, AT THE PUBLISHER'S SOLE DISCRETION, CORRECTION OF THE DEFECT OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE. ANY USE BY YOU OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY PROVIDED BY THE PUBLISHER REGARDING THE SOFTWARE. EXCEPT FOR THE LIMITED WARRANTY ABOVE, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PUBLISHER DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE PUBLISHER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET ANY REQUIREMENTS OR NEEDS YOU MAY HAVE, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL OPERATE ERROR FREE, OR IN AN UNINTERRUPTED FASHION, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS OR ERRORS IN THE SOFTWARE WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE IS COMPATIBLE WITH ANY PARTICULAR PLATFORM.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN NO EVENT WILL THE PUBLISHER BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PROGRAM, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY OTHER PARTY, EVEN IF THE PUBLISHER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE PUBLISHER'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO ITS OBLIGATIONS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT OR OTHERWISE WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE AND DOCUMENTATION OR OTHERWISE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF THE LICENSE FEE PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE AND DOCUMENTATION.

Termination

This License Agreement is effective until it is terminated. You may terminate this License Agreement at any time by destroying or returning to the PUBLISHER all copies of the SOFTWARE and Serial Numbers in your possession or under your control. The PUBLISHER may terminate this License Agreement for any reason, including, but not limited to, if the PUBLISHER finds that you have violated any of the terms of this License Agreement. Upon notification of termination, you agree to destroy or return to the PUBLISHER all copies of the SOFTWARE and to certify in writing that all known copies, including backup copies, have been destroyed. All provisions relating to confidentiality, proprietary rights, and non-disclosure shall survive the termination of this Software License Agreement.

General

This License Agreement shall be construed, interpreted and governed by the laws of the United States without regard to conflicts of law provisions thereof. The exclusive forum for any disputes arising out of or relating to this License Agreement shall be an appropriate court sitting in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. This License Agreement shall constitute the entire Agreement between the parties hereto. Any waiver or modification of this License Agreement shall only be effective if it is in writing from the PUBLISHER. If any part of this License Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this License Agreement shall be interpreted so as to reasonably effect the intention of the parties.

Most of the literary (text) material in SwordSearcher may be freely exported using SwordSearcher's copy functions and used as you see fit, with exceptions listed below and/or in module information screens.
