Hamilton Smith's Expository Bible Commentary

Hamilton Smith (1862–1943) was an English Bible teacher and writer associated with the Plymouth Brethren. After an early career in business, he devoted himself to full-time ministry, becoming a frequent speaker at Bible conferences across Britain. Though his ministry was largely confined to the British Isles, his writings circulated worldwide and continue to be valued by Bible students today.

Smith was a cousin of F. B. Hole, another respected Bible teacher whose writings are also included in the SwordSearcher library. The two men shared a commitment to careful, Christ-centered exposition of Scripture.

His Daniel commentary frames the entire book around what it reveals about Christ's coming kingdom. He never treats a passage as merely historical.

A contributor to Scripture Truth magazine, Smith also had a gift for weaving hymns into his exposition, using them to reinforce the devotional application of the passages he studied.
